The Spectrum RX I System includes the patented COMPARE function for QA
materials checking and simple searching, a spectral calculator providing
quantitative analysis, and resolution better than 0.8 cm-1 using the same high
performance optics as other Spectrum RX Systems.
The Spectrum RX I includes the following features:
- Vibration-isolated optical bench protects the optics from disturbance by
other equipment and allows the keypad to be operated during scanning.
- Spill-resistant keypad with single keystroke operation makes for easier
data handling and cuts training time.
- Patented DynascanTM interferometer provides immunity to dynamic alignment
errors.
- Sealed and desiccated optics protect moisture-sensitive components and
reduce the effect of change in atmospheric absorption.
- All data and spectra are displayed on an included standalone 14-inch
color VDU with a custom palette.
- PC-format floppy disk drive for data storage and easy data transfer to a
PC or another system.
- On-line help makes testing a quick and simple process for students,
occasional users and professionals, and cuts the time and money needed for
training.
- Multi-tasking software allows many operations to be performed
concurrently, increasing the throughput of samples.
- Interactive commands allow spectra to be corrected, subtracted and
baseline-adjusted with total simplicity.
- Compatibility/Comparable with Model 1600 and Paragon spectrometers allows
data and methods to be transferred without change. Methods developed on
other Spectrum RX Systems can be run on the Spectrum RX I System.
- System diagnostics and status indicators give you the confidence that you
will get reliable results.
- Patented COMPARE function designed for QA vastly reduces the risk of
errors due to factors beyond the analyst's control.
- Spectral calculator to calculate, for example, mean and standard
deviation of spectra.
- Simple quantitative capabilities, such as peak height and peak area, are
standard.
- Better than 0.8cm-1 spectral resolution to isolate sharp absorbance
bands.
- OPD velocity variable between 0.1 and 0.5 cm/s to deliver optimum
performance for MCT, photoacoustic and other detectors.
- Frequency range of 7,800-350 cm-1 using a Ge-coated KBr beamsplitter.
- TheSpectrum RX I System provides 5,000/1 rms, 1,000/1 p-p for a 4-second
measurement and 20,000/1 rms, 4,000/1 p-p for one minute.
Measurements are made at 4 cm-1 resolution with Beer-Norton apodization; the
measurement time includes total scan time and signal processing. All Spectrum RX
I Systems are tested to ensure they exceed these specifications. These
signal-to-noise specifications are the results of tests carried out on Spectrum
RX I Systems using data which has been neither smoothed nor baseline-corrected.An
optional printer or plotter must be included as a separate item, in order to
provide a complete system.
